If you have not applied any pre-emergent herbicides to your lawn yet, you still have a couple more weeks to get it applied. Fertilizer is not required until AT LEAST late April. We recommend waiting until mid-May. Applying fertilizer too early can cause serious damage to your lawn. When deciding what fertilizer to use, make sure to stay away from the popular "Turf Builders" or "Bonus S" weed and feeds normally found at the big box stores. These are typically too high in Nitrogen for Centipede grass and over time, will cause damage. The recommended fertilzer for centipede is 15-0-15.
If you installed sod over the fall or winter, or moved into a new home recently, be advised that once things start to green up, your grass is going to need to be on a watering schedule for a period of time. Temperature and precipitation will determine how much is needed.

Kellum Sod Farm offers delivery, just visit our pricing page for more details. For planning purposes, we typically can fill your pick up orders within a day or two. Delivery availability can range from a couple of days to several weeks depending on the time of year.
Just need a little bit of sod? No problem, you can schedule a pick up directly from our shop location. Most pick up orders can be filled within 24 hours (weather permitting). Please be aware that certain times of the year, there may be a wait list.
Kellum Sod Farm now can handle some basic installations in house. If we can't handle your project, we work with several local landscapers that we would be glad to refer you to. Call and ask for details.
